On Wednesday 8 March, we joined companies and individuals across the world to mark International Women's Day (IWD). Our social media campaign shared pledges from delegates, tutors and the team in the office, showing how they planned to put RADA in Business training into practice to 'Be Bold For Change' - the theme of this year's IWD. Both women and men joined the initiative, with pledges covering many different themes: speaking up and getting your voice heard, standing tall whatever your height, projecting gravitas and authenticity, and empowering others to achieve their ambitions. We were thrilled to join in the worldwide initiative, aiming to create a more positive and gender inclusive working world. You can see the highlights of our campaign here.
As well as collecting pledges from our network, RADA in Business trained over 200 women this week at Omniwomen UK and WOW Festival.
Omniwomen UK is an annual summit organised by Omnicom aimed at driving the number, seniority and influence of women across the Omnicom network. This year - the third time the event has taken place - took the theme of leadership, encouraging women to be their "true and best self" in the workplace to move forward on their leadership journey. With many speakers and workshops throughout the day, it was an inspiring summit which brought together over 350 women. RADA in Business tutors Lisa Åkesson and Kath Burlinson delivered workshops on 'Being The Leading Lady', providing skills to help women aim high, be authentic and communicate with authority, presence and impact.
RADA in Business ended the week at the WOW Festival at London's Southbank Centre, where the busy programme again included a 'Being The Leading Lady' workshop led by Sheelagh McNamara. Over 90 women participated in the session, where there was a buzzing atmosphere and enthusiastic feedback from participants who learned tips on how to present themselves with leadership qualities such as gravitas, authority and impact. The week of events was a wonderful opportunity for RADA in Business to celebrate the successes of its dedicated women's courses, and to introduce our training to more women from a range of industries.
