RADA in Business has released a research report that highlights how the art of communication plays a key part in professional success.

The report comprises the views and experiences of business people from across the UK, and gives corporate professionals a masterclass in how to communicate with clarity and impact, explaining how RADA in Business applies actor training techniques to the workplace so that business professionals can present the best version of themselves when it matters the most.

As well as revealing how many business professionals lack confidence in their ability to communicate as well as they would like to, the report also includes helpful tips from RADA in Business’ world-leading communication tutors on how to make your entrance through to adapting your leadership style.

RADA in Business’ Executive Presence for Women course features in the June edition of Harper’s Bazaar, as a practical solution to overcoming ‘imposter syndrome’ in the workplace.

The editorial written by novelist Elizabeth Day cites former client; Sotheby’s auctioneer Helena Newman, crediting her RADA in Business training as part of her professional success:

We focussed on a holistic approach: breathing, mental preparation and technique…I think the better prepared you are, the easier it is to be relaxed and respond to the audience.’

Being Bold for Change at WOW Festival

Posted by (in Miscellaneous)

RADA in Business had an exciting and successful week celebrating International Women's Day, Omniwomen UK and WOW Festival last week as our communications skills training helped women to 'Be Bold For Change' in the workplace.

On Wednesday 8 March, we joined companies and individuals across the world to mark International Women's Day (IWD). Our social media campaign shared pledges from delegates, tutors and the team in the office, showing how they planned to put RADA in Business training into practice to 'Be Bold For Change' - the theme of this year's IWD. Both women and men joined the initiative, with pledges covering many different themes: speaking up and getting your voice heard, standing tall whatever your height, projecting gravitas and authenticity, and empowering others to achieve their ambitions. We were thrilled to join in the worldwide initiative, aiming to create a more positive and gender inclusive working world. You can see the highlights of our campaign here.

As well as collecting pledges from our network, RADA in Business trained over 200 women this week at Omniwomen UK and WOW Festival.

Posted by (in Miscellaneous)

Charlie Walker-Wise answers the question.

As the parent of a young son, I’m getting ready for the first time I have to announce “do as I say, not as I do”. It’s a statement I’m not looking forward to but whether so explicitly stated or not, it’s a dictum every child experiences.

On reflection though, it’s not only said to children. In a conversation with a non-training colleague recently I was talking about how I don’t always prepare in the same way to coach participants on my courses. This might seem something of a shocking confession. “Cheat” I hear you say, but this is not necessarily true.

The training that my RADA in Business colleagues and I deliver is based on an experience. The training might be a transformative experience or journey (I started here and now I’m all the way over here), but the learning itself is something that is experienced. It is not simply considered, or pondered, or discussed; it can be seen, heard, felt and touched by both the learner and the other people in the room with them. This work is inhabited more in the body than it is in the mind. It’s a way of learning that traditional education ceases to employ beyond the age of about five years old.
