John is a trained actor and successful director who has worked in the business sector for over fifteen years. He believes all people possess the capacity to change and develop and has brought this belief to the workplace. He has built a strong personal reputation as a facilitator and coach where his intervention has helped his clients unlock their potential and discover a more confident approach to successful communication.
He uses his experience from the world of theatre to help individuals develop the key vocal and physical skills needed to enhance personal impact, helping them to speak with clarity, purpose and authority and communicate more effectively in both a business and social environment. He uses a wide range of very practical and enjoyable approaches that bring out the best in the voice while helping to relax the body and focus the mind. His creative approach to the work means that all the sessions are highly interactive, supportive and lively.
John trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama for three years, gaining a BA Hons in Theatre Arts. He was Joint Artistic Director of the National Youth Theatre from 2003 until 2008 and was recognised for his ability to inspire talented young people. His successful tenure saw him create and deliver on an ambitious strategy of expansion and growth. He led the company through an extraordinary period of change, bringing the powerful lessons he learnt from that period into his consultancy work.

Much of his corporate work has been with senior managers developing their skills in personal impact and effective communication, handling crucial conversations, influencing skills, leadership development, constructive feedback, and increasing confidence. John uses group facilitation, forum theatre, role-play, and one-to-one coaching to achieve the desired communication objectives.
