Julian is a RADA trained actor, and has an MA from the Central School of Speech and Drama in Voice Studies. His acting work includes productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe and Punchdrunk.
Since 2011, he has been working as voice, speech and communication skills coach, facilitating workshops for public, private and charitable sector organisations of all sizes.
He has a holistic approach to this training, focusing on a synthesis of the physiological (posture/release/breath) the psychological (confidence/gravitas/authority) and the neurological (concentration/attention/emotional control). He uses an awareness of these processes, combined with skills and techniques acquired from over 20 years in the acting profession to profoundly and positively alter people’s personal presence, and the impact and influence they have on others.
His specialities include: presentation and public speaking skills, voice, speech and articulation (including accent reduction/softening), vocal and physical impact, meeting management, group dynamics, focused attention and relaxation techniques including mindfulness.
As a qualified fitness instructor and passionate marathon runner, he is also incredibly enthusiastic about health, fitness and wellbeing, and this experience is also a key part of his work as a facilitator.
